Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: another Jerry jingle

a number of listeners have pointed out that very "railroad riff"...I've listened a bunch of times and while you can certainly make a case for it, i'm not exactly sure it's intentional....the phrase is almost but not quite complete...I can make out the 'i've been working on the RR' bit, but he falls short of the "...all the live long day" refrain....still, with so many hearing the same thing, maybe Jerry WAS having some thing is certain: it's one HELL of a great China>Rider. (The RR jingle, if it's there, actually begins as they start the MLB jam transition before IKYR)...

If you like hearing hidden tunes mixed in, also check out 5/4/77 Scarlet> Fire......Bobby throws in a "China Cat" lick during the Scarlet portion...

also: check out my favorite "He's Gone" ever, from 9/26/72....the very beginning you can hear the start of "Birdsong" quite clearly before they transition into the full-on "He's Gone".
